This book is a detailed retrospective, at three pounds and 190 pages. ‘Supertunnel – Journey from Light to Light,’ celebrates the complexity of building the 57.5 meter dual-deck tube, two miles long, beneath Seattle. The book provides new images beyond areas available to local news media, such as workers assembling the concrete walls, or diving in a compressed air environment, and piloting the machine in the control center.
“Supertunnel” is a thorough account of all that went into the underground highway, including thirty separate topics, and hundreds of original photos and detailed renderings. Rather than a fast read, the book is the type that will linger on the living room table for readers to continue viewing over time.
